Macedon Wine Region – Many of the favored wineries are a little off the beaten track at high altitudes and not directly serviced by public transport, so a car is probably the best means to this place.
Goldfields Region – this is an area full of the historical Australian Gold Heritage. There are charming towns with great architecture and needs plenty of time to explore fully. You can only do this best when on a car.
Public Means
If you cannot get access to a car it doesn’t mean that you miss out on a chance to experience the Victoria state capital. Public transport in the Melbourne Region is rather good. It services the city very extensively and you can get to just about every site without much of a hustle using the public means within the city. However if you want to travel further afield the frequency of the public transport reduces and you have to follow a timetable.
